The co-operative (co-op) & internship program offers engineering students 8, 12 & 16 months of paid, full-time on-the-job experience, to develop skills, build professional connections and gain confidence in their chosen discipline.
The Optional Specialization in Management Sciences (OSMS) focuses on engineering and operations management, operations research, finance and organizational behaviour and prepares students for engineering leadership.
The Accelerated Masters of Applied Science Pathway helps research-minded students, who have a minimum CGPA of A-, earn a Master of Applied Sciences up to one year earlier.
A is an optional professional designation for engineering graduates through Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
The first year transition program is designed to help students who may be struggling with the pace of university learning, have missed credits, or need to improve their academic standing. This program ensures that students have the tools and guidance they need to succeed and remain on track in their studies.
Through both theory and application, students begin their program by focusing on the foundations of engineering science, studying robotics, materials, thermodynamics, machine and system design, manufacturing, control systems and more.
In fourth year, students collaborate on a large-scale design project, leaving them well-equipped to start careers and make a positive impact on society. Full course descriptions are available on the undergraduate calendar.
At the Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Mechatronics Engineering, our students strive for more, not only in their studies but also in their approach to the world of technology. And that world moves at lightning-fast speed. To meet the demand for increased productivity and efficiencies, both mechanical and industrial engineering have become hubs of unprecedented growth. Taking cues from industry, we鈥檝e adapted our program offerings to include interdisciplinary teachings in fields like data analytics in industrial engineering and mechatronics engineering where programming, computation and microprocessors are applied to the foundations of mechanical engineering.
