Biography
Born and raised in Clarenville, Newfoundland, I told my primary school teacher I wanted to be an author. That鈥檚 when the dream of being a storyteller started to form. Combining this passion with my love for sports, I started intertwining the two worlds in my work. Hosting a local hockey broadcast of the Clarenville Caribous, and being a freelance reporter for 鈥淭he Packet鈥� during high school.
After high school, I spent a year at my hometown's local college continuing to grow on these skill sets in addition to running sports teams' social media accounts. Moving on to my undergrad at the University of Ottawa, I brought these passions with me and immersed myself in the Ottawa sports market.
From running the social media accounts of Gee-Gees Football, creating memories on the sidelines of Redblacks games, and capturing moments at the rink with the 67s. I now run my own content creation company that works with individuals and local businesses to provide them with photo, and video materials. Along with our own YouTube series, and podcast 鈥淕reels Reels鈥�.
Why Digital Media?
The MDM program allows me to pair my love for storytelling with the power of entrepreneurship. I strive to create work that will allow these people and businesses to grow online. Whether it鈥檚 an athlete who can drive their other passions with the digital audience they鈥檝e built once they retire or the local coffee shop which can drive more revenue due to social media. The skills I鈥檒l learn in MDM will help me make sure I can complete these goals effectively.
