Saliou Ndour
Saliou Ndour is a doctoral researcher in sociology at the Doctoral School of Spaces, Societies, and Humanities (ED-ESH) at Assane Seck University of Ziguinchor (UASZ), Senegal. He obtained both his Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 degrees in sociology from the same university, specializing in migration, health, and development.
His doctoral research focuses on the socio-economic and health reintegration of displaced populations affected by the Casamance conflict. The study examines the strategies and actions implemented to support returning displaced persons, the challenges involved, and the key actors in the reintegration process.
After completing a four-month internship at the university administration, Saliou Ndour now works as a part-time lecturer at UASZ. He has also participated in several scientific projects related to the reintegration of conflict-affected populations in Casamance, including the economic reintegration of returning combatants, support for victims, and the return and resettlement of displaced populations.
Currently, he is conducting research on the national policy for supporting the return of displaced persons in the Bignona Department. This work aims to analyze the actions implemented by the Government of Senegal under the Diomaye Plan for Casamance.
