His fashion designs are turning heads - not only for how they look - but who can wear them: anyone.
Carter teaches about gender-neutral clothing at Ryerson's School of Fashion - to help ensure the future of fashion is more inclusive. His non-binary clothing brand, L'Uomo Strano, is also housed in Ryerson's Social Ventures Zone.
鈥淪tyle and fashion are at times the very first tool and the strongest tool you can use to express your gender or identity, particularly if it鈥檚 in flux or if it鈥檚 changing or transitioning. It is such a powerful tool for non-binary and gender non-conforming individuals,鈥� he said.
