Onomatopoeia
(Sometimes called echoism) Refers to the use of words which resemble closely鈥攐r enact鈥攖he sounds that they describe. The onomatopoeic effect can be achieved through the poet鈥檚 choice of a single word or a combination of words in a line, or several lines, of a poem.
