Tone
Refers primarily to a writer鈥檚 attitude to the subject matter, and to the audience, implied in the structure and style of a literary work. We may speak, for example, of an ironic, a sympathetic, or a critical tone. Note also that the in poetry the poetic persona鈥檚 voice can also convey a tone.
