Dr. Sui Sui
Overview
Dr. Sui Sui鈥檚 research focuses on international entrepreneurship and sustainability, with particular emphasis on small business exporters and immigrant-, Indigenous-, and women-owned enterprises. Her work examines how firms internationalize, innovate, and build resilience in the context of global uncertainty, inclusive trade, and sustainability transitions. In parallel, she studies governance and sustainability, including how board gender diversity influences environmental performance, green innovation, ESG engagement, and organizational resilience during crises, as well as how firms respond to institutional and policy pressures related to sustainability transitions. She has published in leading Financial Times Top 50 academic journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice.
Dr. Sui has received numerous teaching awards for excellence in experiential and inclusive international business education, with emphasis on case-based teaching. Her teaching innovations include the use of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) to foster global classroom engagement and the integration of Indigenous perspectives and worldviews into international business curricula.
In addition to her research and teaching contributions, Dr. Sui plays an active leadership role in the academic community. She serves on the editorial leadership teams of the Multinational Business Review, Journal of Comparative International Management, and the Journal of East European Management Studies, and is a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of World Business. Her research has strong practical relevance and has received frequent media coverage in outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, CTV News, and Yahoo Finance. She has been invited by the Bank of Canada, Global Affairs Canada, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, and the Canadian Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism to participate in research seminars and policy roundtables on supporting entrepreneurial firms in global markets. Through her scholarship, pedagogy, and service, she advances inclusive, policy-relevant, and globally engaged international business research.
