Paul H. Cocker Gallery
The Paul H. Cocker (PHC) Gallery is the main exhibition space for DAS, providing a public venue for students and faculty members to share their studio work, research and other projects. Supporting DAS鈥檚 overall mission, the gallery supports exhibitions that explore architecture鈥檚 intersection with broader cultural, social and political practises. The gallery also collaborates with curators, arts organizations and other partners to showcase traveling shows and special exhibitions by local and global designers.
Designed by Toronto-based architecture firm Gow Hastings Architects, the 1,184-square-foot gallery features flexible hanging and display systems for exhibiting a variety of multimedia installations and sculptural models. Opening into the Architecture Building鈥檚 main floor atrium space, the gallery hosts annual academic events, including Awards Night, Collaborative Exercise, and the Year End Show.
The gallery is named for Paul H. Cocker, a 成人大片 engineering alumnus who became the President & CEO of McKay-Cocker Construction, earning a 2012 Alumni achievement award. It opened in 2013 鈥 created with generous support of EllisDon, Ivanho茅 Cambridge, PCL, and the class of 1962.
