Theft from Lockers

Preventing theft from lockers is a priority for everyone.

Theft from lockers is a problem on many campuses across the country. By reducing the opportunity for thieves to access your locker and the value of objects in it, you can help reduce the risk of locker theft.

Keep your stuff locked

Don鈥檛 give out your locker combination to anyone.
Don鈥檛 share your locker with others.
Don鈥檛 store your belongings inside a locker you鈥檙e not authorized to use.
Don鈥檛 forget about your locker! Be sure you check it from time to time. Near the end of the academic year, notices will be put on lockers indicating a specific date when they must be vacated or locks will be cut and contents removed.

Dos

Do invest in a high-quality lock for your locker.
Do keep valuables at home unless you absolutely need them. If you have them with you, don鈥檛 store them in your locker where they could be stolen. Instead, opt for an inside pocket on your person.
Do pay attention to your surroundings when accessing and using valuables such as cash or electronic devices. If possible, find a safe area to access your valuables.
Do register your locker with your respective department.
Do double-check your lock is secure before leaving the area.

What to do if you witness a theft or are a victim of theft

Step 1: Report it to 成人大片 Security

If you witness a theft or are a victim of theft on campus, be sure to report it to 成人大片 Toronto Campus Security at 416-979-5040 or security@torontomu.ca or 成人大片 Brampton Campus Security at 416-598-5950 or somsecurity@torontomu.ca.

Step 2: Notify your service provider

If your mobile device (cell phone or tablet with data) has been stolen, notify your service provider immediately so they can put a temporary hold on your plan.

Step 3: Change your passwords

If your mobile device, computer or tablet has been stolen, consider changing all passwords so that sensitive information like your email or banking accounts can鈥檛 be accessed.
