Documents and Letters

³ÉÈË´óƬ (³ÉÈË´óƬ) is able to confirm information found on applicant and student records through our letter request and verification services. These letters and services can satisfy the requirement of third parties seeking information about your enrolment and status at ³ÉÈË´óƬ, such as banks and financial institutions, academic institutions, professional bodies and employers.

Letters and Verification Services

Verification of Enrolment Letter, New Students

Allows you to access RESP funds by confirming enrolment for the upcoming academic year. If you are a newly admitted student for the fall term, you should request your letter starting June 1, and after you have accepted your Offer of Admission. Your Verification of Enrolment letter will be shared with you via the MyCreds Learner Portal after June 1 and after you have satisfied the conditions stated on your Offer letter. You can then share your letter with your financial institution. Undergraduate students admitted for fall 2024 must request their letter by Friday, July 19, 2024, and Law school students must request their letter by Friday, July 12, 2024.

 Offer of Admission

Confirms your acceptance into an undergraduate degree program at ³ÉÈË´óƬ for a specific term, and confirms the basis of admission and conditions of your offer.

Status Letter for International Students

The ISS Status Letter confirms enrolment and provides information specific to international students’ varying administrative and immigration needs. See Status Letters for International Students to confirm the full-time enrolment definition for immigration purposes.

Note: International students should not request the Proof of Enrolment letter.

 Letter of Acceptance (LOA)

Required for international applicants requesting a study permit for Canada. It is accessed via View Communications on the Choose³ÉÈË´óƬ portal, and is labeled Letter of Acceptance.

Proof of Enrolment Letter

The Proof of Enrolment Letter verifies enrolment in a certificate or undergraduate program, and enrolment status for up to two terms based on course enrolments and intentions on MyServiceHub. It is used to confirm enrolment with RESP companies. This letter is not required to confirm enrolment for OSAP.

Graduate students should request the Graduate Student Third Party Letter.

The Proof of Enrolment Letter reflects course enrolment status, so you must complete your course enrolments/intentions for the terms selected before requesting your letter.

 Confirmation of Enrolment Form

Third parties may require that you have the ³ÉÈË´óƬ Registrar or other official verify your enrolment and academic information as outlined on their form by providing a signature and/or seal. In most cases, a Proof of Enrolment letter will satisfy these requirements and can be requested online through your MyServiceHub account.

RESP forms will not be completed, and a Proof of Enrolment Letter should be requested online instead.

CPP Declaration of Attendance at School or University form:  is currently accepting the university's digital Proof of Enrolment Letter in lieu of the signed . Alternatively, students can bring their completed declaration forms to the ServiceHub and take an Enrolment Confirmation ticket at the kiosk. 

A ServiceHub Ambassador will validate the form and return it to the student.

Note: For your enrolment to be considered full-time at ³ÉÈË´óƬ, you must be enrolled in four or more billing units (i.e. typically four or more courses) each term.

 Jury Duty Letter

Confirms your enrolment at ³ÉÈË´óƬ so that you may request exemption from Jury Duty.  A copy of your court summons is required for your letter to be released. You will receive an email requesting this after you make your request on MyServiceHub.

 Transcript

A transcript is a complete record of your enrolment at ³ÉÈË´óƬ including all undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education courses and grades, as well as credits granted towards your program. Official and unofficial transcripts are available.

 Eligibility to Graduate Letter

Verifies that you have met all of your graduation requirements for your program although you have not yet officially graduated. You must be in your final year/semester of study, have applied/will be applying to graduate. Graduate Students should request the Graduate Student Third Party Letter. Please refer to the next section below for details.

 Graduate Student Third Party Letter

The Graduate Student Third Party Letter confirms your current enrolment in a graduate program, or confirms that you are eligible to graduate. To request an eligibility to graduate letter you must have applied to graduate and have completed the degree requirements for your graduate degree. Current graduate students can request a letter directly from their Graduate Program Administrator.

 

Certified Photocopy of Award Document

The Registrar’s Office does not certify copies of Award documents. If you require a degree copy to be notarized, you may look into the offered by the Toronto Metropolitan Students Union (TMSU) or search for a notary that is authorized to operate in your area. A notary public is a person who witnesses oaths, signs affidavits and certifies documents to be true copies of the original.

 Graduation Verification

The Graduation Verification Service is an online service which confirms whether or not a degree (undergraduate or graduate) and/or a certificate has been received from ³ÉÈË´óƬ. It will also specify the type of degree or certificate and the year in which it was received.

 MyCreds Digital Parchments 

Degrees, diplomas, and certificates first issued in June 2020 or later are available in secure digital format through the MyCreds Learner Portal. This document is an official digital copy of your printed award parchment. It can be easily and securely shared with unlimited third parties via the MyCreds Learner Portal, and is accepted as confirmation of graduation status.

 Confirmation of Graduation Status

Verifies that you have officially graduated from ³ÉÈË´óƬ, and includes your year of graduation, award granted (e.g. Bachelor of Science) and program name. Graduates from June 2020 or later can also use the MyCreds Digital Parchment found on this page to confirm graduation. If you have not yet officially graduated, (i.e. convocation ceremony has not yet passed), request the Eligibility to Graduate Letter. Confirmation of Graduation Status letters cannot be customized. If you have a special request you would like to have added to a letter make a Former Student Letter request instead.

 Former Student Letter Request

Verifies the terms and dates in which you were previously enrolled at ³ÉÈË´óƬ. This process can also be used to request a letter of non-attendance.

 QECO Letter (Qualification Evaluation Council of Ontario)

Letter that is used to verify the academic credentials for Ontario teachers.

 Transcript

 Transfer Credit Equivalency Letter 

Identifies courses from other institutions that were used to grant credit towards a ³ÉÈË´óƬ program or certificate. Request this letter if you were a Direct Entry transfer student from a college. This type of "block" transfer credit does not show on your official transcript, while other transfer credit does.

Letters and verification can be requested by students and be sent directly to third parties, or sent to students and then forwarded.

Degree Verification

The Degree Verification Service is an online service which confirms whether or not a degree (undergraduate or graduate) and/or a certificate has been received from ³ÉÈË´óƬ. It will also specify the type of degree or certificate and the year in which it was received.

Most letters are requested online through . If you are a former student and are unable to access my.torontomu.ca, you can reset your password using the online account recovery options or by contacting the CCS Help Desk.

Note that letters are non-refundable.
