Student Stories
After Joseph Sebastian began a minor in physics, he soon found himself experiencing science as it鈥檚 practised in the real world. While working as a research assistant with professor Michael Kolios, an exciting opportunity arose: a 12-week funded internship with a world renowned physicist in Paris, France. On top of learning techniques in ultrasound imaging, Joseph brushed up his French skills, and 鈥渓earned more about myself professionally and personally,鈥� he says. 鈥淚t was a once-in-a-lifetime experience!鈥� Check out Joseph鈥檚 story and other opportunities for undergraduate research.
After coming to Ryerson, Monica Bell Vila immersed herself in student life. She held executive positions in the , and picked up 1st prize for her Undergraduate Thesis poster presentation. She even landed an internship with an optics company in the Netherlands, where she created simulations of waveguides. But it wasn鈥檛 all study.
