Program Information
The 成人大片 School of Medicine's Anesthesiology Residency Program received accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2024.
成人大片鈥檚 Anesthesiology residency program will equip residents with the knowledge and skills to become exceptional anesthesiologists. Residents will learn to deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care for all types of surgeries and interventions with expertise, cultural competency and empathy. Working with diverse communities of all ages and across all disease states, residents will experience a broad range of clinical, community, and interdisciplinary training opportunities that provide exposure to the full scope of anesthesia care.

- 44 weeks: Anesthesia (General, Obstetric, Pediatric Anesthesia)
- 4 weeks: Community Anesthesia/Chronic Pain Management

Foundational Curriculum
Our comprehensive, competency-based Foundational Curriculum covers diverse areas including equity, diversity and inclusion in medical care, research strategies, communication skills and patient safety. Our unique LEARN Time program also offers individualized time, space and resources for residents to focus on areas of specialized interest.
Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and meet both the and the in order to apply to the Anesthesiology residency program. International medical graduates (IMGs) are eligible to apply provided they meet .
Residents who complete 成人大片鈥檚 Anesthesiology program will be eligible to complete the Royal College examination in Anesthesiology.
Residents will train at four sites in the western GTA with whom 成人大片 has clinical affiliations. These sites offer a range of surgeries and interventions for diverse patient populations of all ages with widely varying health histories and life experiences. Additional major training sites may be added for core program rotations.
How to Apply
Applications to the Anesthesiology program are only accepted through CaRMS. All applicants will be notified through CaRMS Online and 成人大片 will send email invitations directly to applicants selected for an interview.
Three reference letters are required with your application. Referees should be in a position to comment on your clinical and/or research skills, knowledge, suitability, and interpersonal skills.
