³ÉÈË´óƬ’s international partnerships are guided by Policy 95: International Institutional Partnerships and Collaborative Activities, which outlines the university’s principles, procedures, and expectations for global collaboration.

Steps to Establishing a Partnership

³ÉÈË´óƬ Global supports faculty and staff throughout the development of international partnerships, from initial consultation to agreement signing and renewal. All communications should be directed to global.partnerships@torontomu.ca.

Submit a Proposal and Obtain Faculty Support

Agreement Development

  • ³ÉÈË´óƬ Global will review the proposal and evaluate the potential partner in accordance with Policy 95.
  • If a formal agreement is required, ³ÉÈË´óƬ Global will determine the most appropriate format (MOU or SAA) and coordinate the drafting process.
  • ³ÉÈË´óƬ Global will serve as the primary liaison for all external communications related to agreement language, using global.partnerships@torontomu.ca as the main point of contact with the partner institution.
  • ³ÉÈË´óƬ Global will liaise with the General Counsel and Board Secretariat (GCBS), incorporating revisions from all parties as needed.

Signing & Finalization

  • Once the agreement is finalized, ³ÉÈË´óƬ Global will coordinate the signature process, typically using DocuSign to ensure efficient execution.
  • A digital copy of the fully signed agreement will be shared with the initiator and other relevant ³ÉÈË´óƬ stakeholders.

Implementation & Ongoing Collaboration

  • The initiator is responsible for implementing and managing partnership activities with the international partner.
  • ³ÉÈË´óƬ Global remains available for guidance and coordination support.

Midpoint Review, Renewal, or Closure

  • ³ÉÈË´óƬ Global tracks all agreements and will reach out at key milestones, including mid-point reviews and in advance of expiration.
  • ³ÉÈË´óƬ Global will consult with the initiator to review the partnership’s outcomes and determine whether renewal, revision, or closure is appropriate.
  • Any formal updates will be coordinated by ³ÉÈË´óƬ Global in alignment with Policy 95.
